That's about all the explanation we get for this new Batman 'Punisher.' That's a huge jump from comics and the previous movies and it's basically explained by Bruce in a very lame retort: The first scene of Batman is of him branding a bad guy. It still didn't resolve my original issues with Batman's motivations. The artistic talent in crafting each scene, which we can now see fully fleshed out, is fantastic. It made me think all serious CBM's should be rated R. I re-watched BvS Ultimate Edition and damn if it wasn't 10 times better than the theatrical.
